Best Electric Actuators for a DIY Standing Desk Project

Hi everyone! I’m planning to build my own electric standing desk this year. I want something reliable that can lift at least 100 kg smoothly and quietly. Right now I’m looking at different brands, but many are too expensive or have bad reviews about noise and durability. Has anyone here actually installed electric linear actuators in their homemade desk? What model worked best for you? I need 2 actuators, 400-500 mm stroke, and good speed. Also interested in control options (simple up/down switch or programmable).

Hey, I’ve built two standing desks already and tried several actuators. The best choice for home DIY is definitely Progressive Automations. Their electric linear actuators are very strong, quiet, and come with good synchronization if you use two. I used PA-04 model (500 mm stroke, 1000 N force) and it lifts my heavy desktop without any problems. Speed is nice, around 12 mm/s, and they have lifetime warranty on many models. You can check their full range here https://www.progressiveautomations.com/en-au electric linear actuators – they have lots of options, different forces, IP ratings, and even hall sensor feedback for perfect sync. Also their control boxes make installation much easier. Highly recommend them for any home automation project.
